Nights out
Split the party costs, even if everyone paid for something different
One person paid for the venue, another for the meat and another for the drinks. Log each cost with who paid it, and Divall works it out with as few payments as possible.

How it works
Everyone logs what they paid
Create the party account, add who’s coming and log each cost with who paid it: the venue, the meat, the ice. People who have Divall see the account on their phone.
- Everyone or just some. Each cost is split among everyone or only among the people who had it.
- Consumption groups. Set up a group like “Drink alcohol” and only they pay for the alcohol.
- For people without the app. Add them by name and share what they owe.

An example
Saturday’s barbecue, with clear accounts
Five friends. Only the three who drink pay for the alcohol: Mauricio, Ana and Luis.
The costs
| Cost | Paid by | Split among | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue | Mauricio | All 5 | $300 |
| Meat and chorizo | Ana | All 5 | $120 |
| Beer and liquor | Luis | Drink alcohol (3) | $90 |
| Ice | Carlos | All 5 | $10 |
| Total | $520 |
Each person
| Who | Paid | Share | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mauricio | $300 | $116 | +$184 |
| Ana | $120 | $116 | +$4 |
| Luis | $90 | $116 | −$26 |
| Carlos | $10 | $86 | −$76 |
| Diana | $0 | $86 | −$86 |
Four payments and everyone’s even: Diana pays Mauricio $86, Carlos pays him $76 and Luis $22, and Luis pays Ana $4.

FAQ
About splitting a party
How do I make only the people who drink pay for the alcohol?
When you create the account, set up consumption groups, like “Drink alcohol”, with the people who drink. Then pick that group on the alcohol cost, and only they pay for it.
What if several people paid for different things?
Each cost records who paid it. Divall adds up what each person paid, their share and the difference, and shows who pays whom.
Why are there fewer payments than people?
Divall simplifies the debts: instead of everyone paying everyone, it combines what’s owed so there are as few transfers as possible.
Does everyone need the app?
No. Add anyone by name and share what they owe. If you want, invite them with a QR code, a link or their @username.
