Vacation
Split the trip expenses, even with families, couples and kids
One person paid for the hotel, the tour was paid in another currency and the dinner was adults only. Divall splits each cost the right way, and at the end each family makes a single payment.

How it’s split
Each cost, its own way
For each cost you choose how it’s split. That way a trip with kids or with families of different sizes stays fair.
-
Equally among everyone
Everyone pays the same. For things everyone uses equally.
-
Among everyone; kids pay half
Each person by weight: an adult counts as 1 and a kid as ½. Ideal for the hotel or food.
-
Per group, equal parts
Each family or couple pays the same, regardless of size. For the car or the boat.
-
Only some people
You choose who had it: the adults’ dinner or the tour not everyone went on.
Families and couples
One payment per family
Set up groups that pay together, like “The Pérez family” or “Ana and Luis”. Each group settles as a single debt: at the end of the trip, one family pays the other and you’re done.
- Another currency. Log the tour in another currency with its rate, and Divall adds it up in the trip’s currency.
- Costs by day. Each cost has its date, within the trip dates.
- Trip groceries. The list of what’s needed at the house or apartment; whoever shops enters what it all cost and it gets split.
- Trip budget. Set a cap for each category for the whole trip and see how much you’ve spent.
- Close account. When everyone has paid, you close the trip account.

An example
Two families, three costs, one payment
The Gómezes (two adults and a kid) and Ana and Luis go to the beach for three nights.
| Cost | Paid by | Split | The Gómezes | Ana and Luis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel, $900 | The Gómezes | Kids pay half | $500.00 | $400.00 |
| Boat, €200 (rate 1.20) | Luis | Per group | $120.00 | $120.00 |
| Dinner, $225 | Ana | Only the 4 adults | $112.50 | $112.50 |
| Their share | $732.50 | $632.50 |
The Gómezes paid $900.00 and their share is $732.50; Ana and Luis paid $465.00 and their share is $632.50. One payment: Ana and Luis send the Gómezes $167.50.
FAQ
About splitting a trip
How do I make kids pay half?
Mark the kids as “Kid (pays ½)” and split the cost “Among everyone; kids pay half”. Each adult counts as 1 and each kid as ½.
Can I log costs in euros or another currency?
Yes. In Vacation each cost can be in another currency with its rate (for example, 1 EUR = 1.20 USD), and Divall adds it up in the trip’s currency.
Can families pay as one person?
Yes. Groups that pay together settle as a single debt, so each family or couple makes or receives a single payment.
Is Vacation free?
Vacation comes with Divall Pro, with 7 days free to try it. If you cancel before they’re up, you won’t be charged.
